Two CTA Employees Fired After Video Showed Bus Driver Body-Slamming Passenger Have Been Arrested

On June 11, 2020, Lawrence Madden was attacked and body slammed by two CTA bus drivers. Mr. Madden was en-route to care for his elderly father when the 2 drivers stopped their respective buses and had a lengthy conversation, thus detaining their passengers and holding up traffic. Mr. Madden asked the driver to wrap up his conversation so that he could get to his destination and he was subsequently attacked by the bus drivers, one of whom picked him up off his feet and slammed him to the ground, causing numerous serious injuries. Both drivers have been fired and are now facing criminal charges.

Two Witnesses To Brickyard Mall Incident Say Police Attacked Them For Filming Officers Who Dragged Two Women From Car

Fiancees Willie Teague and Lazendra Collins were filming Mia Wright being assaulted by police.When they were assaulted by other CPD officers. Officers shattered the back window of their vehicle, took their car keys and struck both repeatedly with police batons. In a supposed effort to dislodge her phone from her hand, an officer with his badge number covered and no nameplate, struck Ms. Collins’s hand multiple times. Both sustained body blows as well. A complaint has been filed with COPA and and the charges are being investigated.

Cook County State’s Attorney Office will review allegations that Chicago Cops pulled a woman from car by her hair through broken glass and placed knee on her neck.

Chicago cops terrorized a mother, daughter and her cousin who had just arrived at the Chicago Brickyard Mall to buy a gift for a relative. Before they could even get out of their car, officers surrounded their vehicle, smashing out the passenger window. They then dragged Mia Wright out of the passenger window by her hair, causing a shard of glass to go into her eye. Once out of the vehicle, they threw her to the ground and one of the officers placed his knee on his neck while calling her and her family “bitch” and f*cking savage. They then falsely charged her with disorderly conduct and held her in custody for over 15 hours. Two officers have been fired and the FBI and Cook County States Attorney’s Office are investigating for criminal charges.

Attorney Walker secures 1.2 million verdict against the City of Chicago for the family of a man shoot in the back by Chicago Police

Alfontish Cockerham was shot twice in the back and killed by a Chicago police officer on June 20, 2015. Chicago police justified the shooting with a false narrative by stating that Cockerham in a gang and had pointed a gun at police officers during a foot chase. They also claimed that Cockerham was not shot in the back. The Chicago Police Department’s story fell apart under during trial and it was revealed that the officer shot Cockerham without justification.

Following a jury trial that lasted 2 weeks, after a short 2 hours deliberation, a Cook County jury entered a verdict against the City of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department, after highly persuasive and passionate arguments by Attorney Walker in the amount of $1.18 million for the unjustified shooting death of Alfontish Cockerham.
